Beautiful battlefield recovered U. S. breast plate.This is a US pattern 1826 Eagle Breast plate, with a wonderful condition crisp front, showing the spread eagle. No nicks, dings or dents. Exhibits a wonderful dark olive patina. The back has the full lead back with one hook present. This breast plate was found long ago by Mr. John Cullison, back in the early days when you could hunt the fields. This plate was found at the historic Sherfy Peach Orchard. The second day there saw fierce fighting back and forth during the day.
