Here is a real nice belt plate from the Gettysburg battlefield. Found at a time when you could legally excavate on battlefields. This is a 1839 pattern belt plate found on Power's hill. Shows a little wear with the tan/olive patina, the back has the arrow hooks and tongue , with minor lead loss. Very small potion of the leather belt behind the hooks. Found late 50's early 60's by legandary relic hunter Mr. John Cullison.
Powers hill was an artillery position and is located to the right flank of Culp's hill.
