WELCOME TO THE NEW AND IMPROVED OLD REBELLION WAR RELICS
While this is a fairly common button, and was made in large quantities during the 1830's, the quality of it is not, this one is of high quality with almost 100% gilt, hardly any loss at all, with very crisp details.
Here is a nice non dug New York, early state seal, with eagle over a globe, in a lined oval field, with rope border. Below which is the word "EXCELSIOR". This style button was very popular in the 1830's. There are many different die variations. This button is gilted and is in excellent condition. The back has the full shank with the backmark of "SUPERB IMPERIAL STANDARD" which is a trademark and denotes the quality, gilting of the button. English manufacture @ 1830's. This is a one piece coat size flat button measures @ 22mm.
