Stupendious, and rare, did i say rare as hen's teeth, unlisted in albert( A lot of buttons were). 1812 era Infantry Officer's button. Extremely well crafted by J. Delarue of New Orleans, who was a jeweler and made high end buttons from About 1811- 1814 period. This one piece raised design silver button shows ,extreme details in craftsmanship through out. Shows and open winged eagle facing right, with big puff clouds, Regt. below. Showing on the right talon 3 arrows, moving to the left talon an olive branch, with 6 leaves. Also under left wing an un-numbered shield. Very limited number of these were made and all well crafted, and almost always in super non excavated condition The back in bueautiful condition, with the solid stand up shank, and very nice script letter backmark in 2 solid rings. Did i say rare, you just never see these offered for sale
