Outstanding condition and Very hard to find. RARE, and scarce diplomat button. This is a very early style button from the 1796-1802 era. This is a 1 piece, raised design, gilt brass button, depicting the wings up early style federal eagle. Fabulous looking front. Depicts the early style eagle pattern, with striped shield over chest, within 13 stripes which represents states joined in 1789. In the eagle's left talon, are 13 arrows, in the right talon is a 15 pedal olive branch. Within the beak is a flowing banner ribbon, which states, "E. PLURIBUS UNUM" meaning one out of many. Encircling the eagle are 16 six pointed stars . The back has the full stand up shank, with nice mold seam present. Has the back mark of , "****BEST***/QUALITY". Hard button to find in any condition.
