Here is a tough button to fine,a 1-piece convex pewter infantry coat button. With the front showing the union eagle with a shield on her left side. Inside is a script(I). The field is smooth and convex, with the raised back mark inside two circles. Solid stand up shank. This button was most likely made by the Philadelphia firm of Armitage around 1815-1822
